I've have a a laptop from HP that came with a Windows Anytime Upgrade disc. I foolishly believed that the upgrade was free so I installed (I'm assuming, emphasis on blindly) Windows Vista Home Basic (?) blindly. I didn't realize until after I tried to put in the product key on the bottom of the laptop and was told it was invalid. My question is how do I downgrade back to my Windows Vista Basic? Do I have to use a restore point or can I even use one?

most likely not did if u put the cd in when you were in windows then it would have probably taken ur xp settings and migrated them to vista you could try putting your xp or hp restore software in and see if it can restore to the day before or a time before you installed vista sounds like the best idea.
