Question Need Help - Cannot Send Emails

  #1
Oct 3rd, 2007
I have Microsoft Office Outllok 2007. I can receive emails but I cannot send emails. When I try to send an email, I get the following error:

Task ‘pop3 knology.net - Sending’ reported error (0x800400129): Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet Service Provider (ISP).’

thanks in advance for your assistance.

If I were you, I'd call whoever provides your e-mail (probably the ISP that handles you dommain) and ask for the name of the SMTP server (that's the one that handles outbound mail). If you're getting the message from pop3.knology.net, then I'll bet that when you set up your e-mail in outlook, you specified the name of your POP3 server (the one that handles inbound mail) in place of SMTP server. Try using SMTP.knology.net and see if that works.
