A Delaware incorporated and entertainment-based internet startup in the Washington, DC area is immediately seeking a full-time business partner to serve as Chief Architect and Lead Programmer. This person will oversee and be intricately involved with the conceptualization and buildup of a unique, exciting, highly-scalable and interactive Web 2.0 site with social networking and rich media features. Compensation will include a combination of salary and equity in addition to a seat on the Board of Directors and the opportunity to be a critical early member of a startup internet company with huge growth potential. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take on a major executive role and be a key contributing member of a fast-paced and popular internet startup that eventually may reach millions of users.

The Chief Architect is responsible for developing the initial product through its multiple design phases including providing development scheduling and milestones, forecasting potential development costs and issues, and working with the CEO and President, Steve Cobb and Anthony Caponiti respectively, to best resolve current and potential technical issues. Constant communication via phone, e-mail and regular meetings is expected and required with the CEO. The Chief Architect will also be responsible for overseeing and assisting with the recruitment of a small technology team. This person must be a good translator between technology and business, but the main duty shall be to develop and grow the site as defined by the CEO.

Potential candidates must have the following qualifications for strong consideration:

- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of experience in application or infrastructure development/design (particularly in the Social Networking or Web 2.0 fields), but in rare cases this may be waived for a candidate that possesses extreme innovation, initiative or demonstrated capability
- Willingness to take on full-time responsibility (minimum 40 hours/week) with the understanding that time commitment will increase as the site scales
- Comfortable working in a results-driven, entrepreneurial environment that is fast-paced, energetic and creative
- Ability to lead and direct a team of Web Programmers and Web Designers (prior experience in a leadership role is preferred)
- Ability and knowledge to recruit and build a top-notch Engineering and Operations team
- Deep familiarity with open source, scalable software and databases such as the LAMP solution stack (Linux OS, Apache web server, MySQL database, and PHP language) or Ruby on Rails
- Extensive knowledge of and ability to code in multiple scalable languages such as C++, Java, Python, Perl, PHP and Ruby
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Interest in entertainment and sports industries
- Passion, leadership, strong work ethic and willingness to enjoy the ride!
