A Delaware incorporated and entertainment-based internet startup in the Washington, DC area is immediately seeking a full-time Programmer to assist in building its site from the ground up. This person will be intricately involved with the conceptualization and structuring of a unique, exciting, highly-scalable and interactive Web 2.0 site with social networking and rich media features. Initial compensation will include a cash amount and potential for a small equity percentage, depending upon commitment. Eventually, this position will be salary-based with the ability to participate in the company's employee stock option plan. In addition, this individual will serve as a critical early member and key contributor of a fast-paced and popular internet startup that eventually may reach millions of people.

The Programmer will be part of a small technology team working with the Chief Technology Officer of the company. Programmers are responsible for assisting with the development of the initial product through its multiple design phases and working with the CEO and President, Steve Cobb and Anthony Caponiti respectively, to best resolve current and potential technical issues. Constant communication via phone, e-mail and regular meetings is expected and required with the CEO and CTO. Programmers will be in charge of application and infrastructure development and should be able to work both as a contributing member of a team and as a creative individual.

Potential candidates should have the following qualifications for strong consideration:

- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience (M.S. is considered a bonus)
- Prior experience or strong interest in application and infrastructure development/design - (particularly in the Social Networking or Web 2.0 fields)
- For B.S. or M.S. graduates, willingness to take on full-time responsibility (minimum 40 hrs/week)
- For current students, willingness to take on part-time responsibility (minimum 20 hrs/week); however, equity depends on total time commitment
- Ability to work well with other programmers/designers and be a team player
- Deep familiarity with open source, scalable software and databases such as the LAMP solution stack (Linux OS, Apache web server, MySQL database, and PHP programming language) or Ruby on Rails
- Extensive knowledge of and ability to code in multiple scalable languages such as C++, Java, Python, Perl, PHP and Ruby
- - Comfortable working in a fast-paced, energetic and creative entrepreneurial environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Interest in the entertainment and sports industries (no stalkers please)
- Ability to code for 24 straight hours without food, water or any real human interaction
