Ideas on finding beta testers

I wanted to see if people had ideas on how to find beta testers for a new site. We are not ready to do wide marketing but I do want to move beyond the immediate circle of friends.

There are a lot of forums like this but most explicitly ask you not to advertise and asking for beta usres seems to fall into this bucket in my mind.

Trying to be a good community member but also need to get a pool of great beta users to help iron our bugs and improve the UI flow.

Any ideas on way to break through the clutter while still being a good community member would be great.

Thanks!!!

Hire few freelance programmers, pay them bonuses on number of valid bugs detected by them.
