The Email Backbone and Directory Engineering team is part of the Messaging and Mobile team within this organization.

* The role of an Email Directory Engineer is to develop solutions to meet changing business needs relating to clients email directory. * The role is based within the Email Backbone and Directory Engineering team, and the successful candidate will also be able to work on projects relating to the Email Backbone.
* Solutions may involve the integration of third-party tools or the development of new code or modifications to existing code and configurations.

* The successful candidate will report to the Global Engineering Lead (GEL) for Messaging Backbone and Directory and will be required to fulfill the global engineering and product development requirements within the Email Backbone and Directory Engineering part of this entity.

The client is looking for a Perl Developer with very strong coding skills. It would be good if the candidate was familiar with Unix, but not critical.This person does not need to be a guru in Exchange or Active Directory. Clearly the Perl coding is the most important component.

They are also looking for the MIIS skill (micro identity integration server).



Requirements Include:
* PERL development skills in a Unix environment.
* Experience in the use of MIIS.
* Knowledge of Exchange and Active Directory.
* Experience as an Email Engineer/Administrator in a large environment demonstrating understanding of the technical challenges and practices
* found in a large global institution.
* Knowledge of the regulatory issues relating to email in financial institutions is highly desirable.
* Understanding of the fundamental technologies critical to email (eg SMTP, DNS, TCP/IP) is highly desirable.
* Proven track record of delivering technology products.
* Proven success in establishing regional and global relationships with other technology groups.
* Interaction with Senior Management, Project managers and operational teams.
* Project involvement and delivery.
* Strategy development and implementation.
* Strong all round technical knowledge/skills within a complex messaging environment.
* The ability to converse with technologists to get problems resolved in a timely manner.
