So,
I'm running Windows XP on my Toshiba laptop P25-S5092. It's working fine. For some months, I had it ported to an old Sony monitor. I just got a new digital Samsung monitor to replace the old Sony. It worked fine when ported.
After a few days, I disconnected the laptop to use as a laptop. When I reconnected, I could no longer get the Samsung to come up. It will display the beginning of the Windows startup, but as soon as it gets to the user screen, only the laptop screen is live. I've removed and reinstalled the Samsung drivers several times. I've connected the Samsung directly to the laptop, bypassing the port, all with the same results. Device manager tells me that the monitor is working fine. In display settings, the Samsung is listed as monitor #2. I can't get it to be active unless I attach it.
What I want, and what I had, is for the laptop monitor screen to be black and the Samsung only to be active. Anyone have any ideas?
DeaconMike
