Windows New Menu

You know - the New Menu - that comes up when you right-click in a folder or on the desktop (the one that lets you add a shortcut, text files etc) - how do you add items to this menu ..

That would require hacking the registry, which is not a good idea if you're a novice.

This can be done via TweakUI, one of Microsoft's free PowerToysXP that you can download from www.microsoft.com

Once you install it, go to where it says "Document Templates" There, you can create or delete existing "templates" for new items for your desktop.
