I was wondering if anyone else was having a hard time downloading any updates from cwshredder? I have tried several days now and I can't. Part of the time when I click to open it I get a message saying I have a trojan infection, but it doesn't do that all the time. Norton hasn't picked up anything in its scans.

what version of shredder do you have .

I have version 1.57.0. Is that the lastest one, or am I behind? I'll try the link you gave me too....thanks.

I downloaded the trojan hunter free trial and ran it, and it didn't pick up anything. I tried cwshredder again, to update it, and still couldn't....both sites it tried to get updates from were unavailable.

Download Version 1.59.1 CWShredder from HERE and run the Program in safe mode . Press the "Fix Button" Let it fix all variants.
Reboot to SAFE mode to run swshredder

Download 'Hijack This!'.HERE


Unzip (extract) it to a folder of its own.Like c:\HJT\hijackthis.exe ,

Then Doubleclick HijackThis.exe (in the new folder), and hit "Scan".
When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save

Log" button.
Press that, then Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents here. for

hijackthis,most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential,

don't fix anything yet.

Reboot and post a new log

End the following processes (Ctrl+Alt+Del keys):

RunDLL.exe

Then rebbot in safe mode and delete: C:\WINDOWS\RunDLL.exe

It is a trojan.

If you would prefer you could try using adaware from www.lavasoft.de or spybot search and destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

They might do it for you.

I forgot to say in my first post (and the edit button has disappeared) that you have to make sure that 'view hidden and system files' is turned on in order to delete it.

Do NOT delete the rundll.exe file. It is a legitimate file which only exists in Windows 95/98/ME.

Close all (browser) windows & rescan with hijackthis. When the scan is finished place a check in the box to the left of the following entries & click 'fix checked':
