I have a Gateway notebook, i turned it on, and it is stuck on the gateway screen, i have tried going through the boot menu, but it doesn't work, neither does Ctrl, Alt, Del to restart. I am not sure what the problem can be, the fan comes on, but it just doesn't finish booting up

Not much to go on and not much you can provide.

What would I do? I'd take the HDD out, put it into an enclosure, attach it by USB to another PC and then have it checked out by DiskDoctor or similar utility.

I'd need to know whether or not there was a corruption like the Boot Sector.

You could try booting with your Windows CD and run FDISK /MBR - but onluy after you've saved your data via the second PC in case it goes wrong.
