Help Windows updates preventing installation of new software?

  #1
Oct 29th, 2007
Hi, perhaps someone can help. Had a problem installing new software until it was suggested that I turn off my automtic updates. Once I did that all my installation problemS went away. However, I have now been advised that it's not a good idea to have them turned off indefinitely. Not sure who to believe or what is the best way forward.

Can someone please tell me WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO MANAGE THIS SITUATION????? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the site!

If you turn them off just make sure to check for updates from time to time....
