Vista won't load, computer keeps resetting

Ok something weird happened to my PC a couple weeks ago. After 9 months of use, with no addition of any hardware or anything, it decided to do this. When I try to start it up it will either get to the windows loading screen and either freeze or restart itself, endlessly. It wont get to windows. Last night I finally got into Windows but it blue screened and restarted. This morning it wont even make it to windows. Occasionally it will get to this screen:

safe mode
safe mode with networking
safe mode command prompt
last known good configuration.
start windows normally.

but none of them work, they all result in either a freeze, or a restart

now you say do a clean install or do repair from booting from the DVD? Nope, tried that, that also freezes when its loading the Windows files from the dvd. (the very first screen you see when it starts loading the DVD.. freezes about midway or 3/4 the way through).

is there anything else I can do?

sounds like bad memory chips. I'd take out the memory chips and let someone else test them on another computer. If its bad then you'll have to buy a new one.
