Hate to say it, but poor color choice-very difficult to see the "buttons" on the side. The text may be too small, I have a nice LCD monitor, but I could see where it may be difficult to read your content on a crappy monitor. Also, you really need a more appealing Logo/Header. I know its not complete, but id back-up a bit.

Your first website?
Grab a book on design, or make it your last.
Sorry mate...you got to work on your design skills.
Rate mine?

just looking for some feedback on my first website. its been a year since i first started and im using the xml slideshow by dreamweaver.
klamour.com
what do you think of it so far?
I made my website in the first week of term and haven't revisited it since. Too busy with uni and that. Basically, my site has 5000 pages that I crawled off the web in 48 hours of continuous crawling (the computer is the physical embodiment of a finite state automata machine which can compute any recursively ennumerable function and all that jazz, so understanding this, pattern matching and data mining is my strong point), so content wise it has something behind it, but it looks shit and it isn't web 2.0 enough, i.e. not enough comment this, diggit and loads of floated divs on the right telling you about related keywords and images etc. I'll pick it up next year when I leave uni.
On the other hand, your site looks like a professional website. E-commerece is big bussiness, the back end (although the spec should be model checked by a good architect) is essentially just 3 relations... customer, stock and sale(customer->stock), but it's the front end, the 'shop window', the HCI that really counts. As I said, that's where I lack, I don't even have paint shop pro or anything. I've been trying to get friendly with graphic designers from school that'd work for mate rates, but they're all 'too busy'.
Good luck with your site, I hope your social network keeps clicking your google ads... just remember with that kind of thing you need to keep it fresh, like caption competitions that rewards 'points' to spend in the arcade and ******** like that.
