Let the anti-apple rant begin!!!!

<rant>

I hate Macs and i hate mac users too. I have always hated them for all my life. When try (and fail because im blinded by its stupid white and silver shinyness) to sit down to use a Mac, the first thing into my mind is, "Where the hell is the second mouse button!" and "I hate Macs!!"

I am also sick and tired of mac fanboys who pretend to like Macs not for thier looks but because they are in someway better. HOW CAN IT BE BETTER IF ITS ONLY GOT ONE DAMN MOUSE BUTTON AHHHHH!

You may have noticed the current Apple advertising campaign starring Mitchell and Webb (those random guys from peep show). I thaught to myself “ Apple has nothing better to do with its money than this?.” There ads must have been written by a 5 year old (average mac user hehehe)

In the ads, Webb plays a Mac while Mitchell plays a PC. Thats no surprise as Mitchell, who wears a nerdy suit is generally thaught of as the wierd one with no friends, while Webb, who wears casual wear is thaught of as the quirky yet cool psycopath. This is a another not-so-subtle subtle way of saying Macs are cool.

The adverts also make a big deal about PCs being associated with boring office tasks while Macs are associated with fun activities. HOW ARE MACS MORE FUN - YOU CAN HARDLY BUY ANY GOOD GAMES FOR THEM!!!!!

I also hate how we have to hear mac users going on about how great Apples products are and about how much they lovetheir iPods and how they are better than us and that thier systems just work. In one of the ads, the PC (Mitchell) has a virus that makes him sneeze and in another, he keeps crashing and having to be rebooted . This is apple's not so subtle way of saying PCs are more unreliable thatn macs.

Also, did you hear about when apple found out that iPods had a virus on them? Apple had the audacity to say that it was windows fault? How!!!

Also what is up with I everything!!!!!

iPod
iPhone
iTunes

iHateMacs!!!!

Mac users alwats convince me to get a Mac because you’ll never get a virus. LIES!!!! I use Windows and linux and I have never had a virus or any other malware on my any of my computers. And stop going on about how OSX is the most advanced system. Its not! Its worse than vista! I dont want to be treated like a retard!

I suppose that the choice of british comedians in the ads is a wise one as everyone knows them but its also a rather crap decision too as in Peep Show , Webb (the mac guy) plays a rather selfish, sex obsessed loser. So when i watched the ads, I thaught, "PC users may be boring but Mac users are selfish, smug and image obsessed" How true.

And yes, to any mac lovers out there, feel free to comment.

Very argumentative, bennet

From this blog all i can tell is that you hate macs?!

I will blog something in response later.......

Yes i hate them . Anothe rthing to add to the list!!!

Why are they so expensive!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hell yea! I agree 100%! Damn apple is such a piece of crap.. Have you seen those apple-PC parody commercials? Haha they are hilarious! Microsoft doesn't make any commercials b/c they don't give a damn! The own the entire market!

And for the ipods, they suck! Apple has been sued numerous times b/c they scratch easily, get viruses, and just plain suck balls.

Apple is gay.. you can tell from the way they put a damn 'i' in front of everything.. it's so annoying!

Oh, and.. why does Windows get more viruses than MACs? .. because no one uses a damn MAC! No one wants to waste their time writing a virus that only one person will get.. MACs have no games, are not compatible with anything, are lousy, and expensive as hell. And, the only way you can upgrade them is simply going out and buying another one!

Death to APPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

So you're basically saying you hate Macs because

  • No second mouse button
  • Bad advertising campaign
  • Snobby users
  • No good games
  • Product names begin with 'i'

The only point that you've made which is constructive is the lack of games (and it's worth noting that you can still run them by using Boot Camp to install Windows on your Mac). Your other points are extremely weak and perhaps biased. For one thing, you can go out and buy a 2 button mouse. Minor inconvenience. And should advertising campaigns, snobby users, and dumb product names really be a reason to hate Apple and/or their products?

I hate Macs and i hate mac users too.

So now you're saying that you hate me because I use a Mac. :-/ Well, that's encouraging.

Mac users alwats convince me to get a Mac because you’ll never get a virus. LIES!!!! I use Windows and linux and I have never had a virus or any other malware on my any of my computers.

OK, but what makes the first statement a lie?

And stop going on about how OSX is the most advanced system. Its not! Its worse than vista! I dont want to be treated like a retard!

I'd be interested to hear some examples of it. Just saying that an operating system treats you like a retard isn't enough to justify your reasoning behind saying that a particular OS is worse than another.

Apple is gay.. you can tell from the way they put a damn 'i' in front of everything

How does that make them gay?

Oh, and.. why does Windows get more viruses than MACs? .. because no one uses a damn MAC!

Where's your proof?

Why are they so expensive!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's one of the few constructive things you've said so far.

Your "blog entry" looks more like a big huge flame than anything else. If this were Digg, I'd bury you.

Oh, and please don't type in ALL CAPS or use so many exclamation marks in a row. It feels like we're being shouted at.

[edit] Going back and reading your previous entry on Dell, I'd have to say that entry and this one are quite alike.

Wow, it seems like you're trying to be clever. How's that working out for you?

Quite good, actually. :-) How about you?

I have used, repaired, screamed at and been generally frustrated by Windows OS in it's various forms for around 20 years and had the same relationship with Microshite programmes like Word, Excel, Powerpoint and several versions of Media Player etc.

I became extremely good at understanding the nightmare that Windows is that I have had few problems at all with it since the release of XP professional edition.

So much so that I had and still have many requests for help from other Windows users.

It got to the point where I would tell a friend to buy his PC then absolutely not touch it, just leave it in the box and call me.
I would then go around to their place and begin the 4 to 6 hour process of completely wiping the hard disc and reinstalling Windows then update it with service packs.
Then I would install all the software that they would need to PROTECT their computer from all the malware viruses adware etc that is out on the Net.

I would explain that all this security would only help if they were to continually keep everything up to date, which with antivirus software can now be around 4 times a day.

I would show them how a lot of this could be set to be automated in the various antivirus programmes the firewall programmes the cleanup programmes the backup programmes the malware programmes the adware programmes . . . . . . . All of which take up hard drive space and eat into resources like memory and cpu usage.

I would point them in the direction of web sites where they could find information on how to keep their system up and running, I would show them how to escape from screen and programme freezes
All this info and mind numbing shit and they haven't even learnt of the pains and evils of email.

I bought a MacBook pro laptop in March this year. I turned it on and in less than 10 minutes I was working away and doing stuff without having to load any third party programmes. After 1 week I had loaded it with programmes, I had also loaded a complete copy of my windows PC on it and had the use of both systems running parallel.

One of several reasons I bought the MacBook was because of the use of the Intel chip which allowed me to run Win XP on it. I had thought that this would give me the best of both worlds because there were some windows programmes that I thought I would be lost without.

In less than a week I found programmes that were made for Mac that would either work as well or better than the Windows programmes I had grown accustomed to.

I removed the Windows XP system from my Mac as I now had no use whatsoever for it

Less than 3 months later I bought another MacBook Pro.

I have hurled demands at these machines that I can tell you a windows machine would not be able to withstand.

The average windows machine with high specs and maximum ram etc would crumble under the abuse I have thrown at the Macs, Video, Graphics, Music, Spreadsheets, databases, Games . . . . . . .

I have not had one single issue with either MacBook at worse I have had a medium size learning curve to contend with and have almost never any need to use a mouse anymore. At first things were strange and a little frustrating but that would be expected.

The Apple website is a mine of help and information and is set up in such a way that it is simple to navigate and find the information you are looking for.

There are a wealth of Mac user forums too where I have found friendly help and advise.

Apart from a few friends whom I would always help I no longer let on that I know anything about Windows, I am a free man I am not a prisoner to Microsoft NOR A SLAVE TO KEEPING THINGS UPDATED BECAUSE ANOTHER SECURITY ISSUE HAS BEEN FOUND OR ANOTHER BUG IN THE SOFTWARE From Microshite has raised it's ugly code.

As for the Apple ads they had no influence on my choices because until I registered my first Mac I had never had a reason to visit there web site, I saw both the USA and UK
version since and some of them I think are funny.

I couldn't give a Monkey's about the look of my computer as long as it works but it is nice to see something other than a Gray lump of plastic.

One marketing catchphrase from Apple I learned of was 'It just works' For the last 6 months this has been absolutely true for me. I load stuff on I plug stuff in, it all works.
I hardly ever have to reboot after loading a new piece of software and when I do have to, every thing is the way it was before the reboot. With Windows often after installing new software something crashes or disappears from the desktop.
Removing software from a Mac is a simple and painless process too.
Networking? just forget about it click . . . click . . type in passwords and your up and running. Connecting a Windows machine is easy too but if there is a problem I have found it's from the Windows machine.

I don't hate Windows users I don't hate non apple PCs.

What I could come to loathe is a Retard who can't use a computer without a mouse or an Idiot that can't use a spell checker (has computer, can't use it) Or an Imbecile who can't read an article about an issue with an iPod, where a virus was found, after it was connected to a Windows PC. Or a Cretin who cannot discern that Vista is little more than a not to subtle ripoff of the design elements of the Mac OS.

A computer is a machine that you can use to do things with.
What type of computer you use is your choice.

What it looks like and the system it uses to function are also a matter of choice.

Anyone who lets their choice be influenced strongly by advertising and less by research runs the risk of ending up with a 'Lemon' whatever system they go for.

I no longer need to use Windows or Microshite products.
I don't care what my computers look like as long as they work.
But there are people who use Windows and Microshite products, who do care what their computers look like.

If JBENNET were a computer it would be a very poor computer to say the very least.

I'm not going to say that I dislike apples. All I can say is that I would be out of a job if it werent for all the PC problems out there!

i dont know.... i use a pc and i have had absolutly no problems.
also you can prevent viruses on a pc by not downloading every program that you see in popups and useing a half-decent anti-virus program like norten, zonealarm, or macafee.

P.S. i know my spelling sucks

I HATE MACS FOR EVER
they are so annoyin and the stuipd keyboard is broken ahhhhhhhh
macs have a mind of there own with they stuipd control bar that just stuipd :@
it makes ur eyes bleed with the brightness
WHAT THE POINT in a delte button if you have to drag into the trash bin
the screen to big for anyone if your elf you would be blown away
i swear i going blind because of it so therefor i typing it with my eyeballs burnt out
the mouse has a over powering red light and has only one clicker
it hard to copy and paste beaucse the peole who made this dumb pc are stuipd
there not very user friendly and yes there smell funny
i hope you know i going to die beacuse of this dumb MAC
the on and off bottom on the side so if u only have one finger this makes it very hard for one finger people to turn it on so there cant even to use one HOW CRUEL !!!!!!!!
it very hard to even find the bottom to switch off so i think we should all join to burn this dumb mac
GOODBYE X

I'm under the impression that the Mac OS is based around UNIX, naturally this should make Macs more reliable and in theory - more secure than typical Windows based systems. Heck hackers are saying that even Linux is more secure than Vista now!

The vast majority of computer users would be able to quickly adapt to no having a right mouse button although I admit this would be tedious and annoying at first. The reason why you won't find many geeky games titles released for Mac would proberbly be because that's not really what it's designed for; a Mac is more at home in a design studio, art center etc.

The second quarter of 2007 brought reported Mac sales of 1,517,000 units over the 3 month period; now it is of course perfectly possible that Jbennet's views of the Mac are correct and the approx. 1.5 million customers (that's roughly 376 in the time it took you to write your junior essay) per quarter are all in fact wrong?

And although the average year-on-year increase in sales for the PC industry was around 11% for 2007, Mac was 36%. However the jury is still out on whether there was any basis for such a one sided knock against Mac without so much as a mention of Vista?

The only thing better than a rant with poor grammar and spelling with little basis is a biased one.

Dazza

Wauw..

Your main point is that a mac supposedly does not support right clicking?

Macbooks: tap trackpad (that's the thing you move your fingers on to use the *pointy thing you click icons on your desktop with* ...) with 2 fingers at the same time, tada, right click.. Don't know if powerbooks support this though..

Macbooks/Powerbooks ALTERNATIVE (yeah! 2 in one baby!): attach a frickin mouse through your USB port (thats the rectangular looking *hole* on the side! Yeah thats the one)

iMac/Mac Pro/Any Mac: attach mouse (the newer Mighty Mouse models have pressure sensitivity to recognise right and left clicking, though I do prefer my razer mouse over an Apple made mouse (hey look at that, I'm a mac user and I prefer something else over an apple product!)

Another point why people use macs:

They like it better than computers with windows OS, you say that Mac *fanboys* (I hate that term) keep boasting about their Apple products while there's more Windows *fanboys* that keep putting Apple products down. Look, I don't give a rats behind what OS you use, have fun with it, be productive with it, whatever. If I prefer the workflow on a Mac over that of a win OS computer, let me and don't fling halfinformed crud on the internet in a badly spelled and gramatically incorrect rant.

English is not my mother tongue, yet if i post anything on the net I prefer it to be thought out and well spelled.

About the virusses:

You probably had to buy a virus scanner, a firewall, download some spy-ware checkers etc.
I didn't, does that mean I hate computers with windows on them or their users because they're a magnet to porn pop-ups and trojan's? No. Ok ok, you probably didn't buy them but surfed to the pirate bay and downloaded them for free and got some cracks in your cereal.

Apple is gay because they put the i in front of everything:

So I can call you gay because you can't spell? Or maybe I can call you gay because you rant about stuff you don't know anything about? Oh, I might want to call you gay because you use windows! Why would I? Why would you? Think about it. Besides, gay means happy, I'm quite sure the Apple CEO 's are quite happy :)

Why do they cost so much:

I don't know, I don't really care that much. I'm not rich, not by a long shot, but I prefer to pay for a machine that won't have to be upgraded/replaced with every new OS. My old desktop mac (6 years old now but did put in a gig ram) runs Tiger, I bought a MacBook Pro which runs leopard. The two systems don't have any issues with each other.

Do YOU have a 6 year old machine running Vista? Like.. the machine it was 6 years ago, do you even know anybody who has an unaltered (except the addition of ram)?

By posting this I mean to give you no cause for offense, just sense.

ATTENTION ALL MAC HATERS.......CHECK THIS OUT http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/apple WOOT MACS R GAY!!!!! IF YOU AGREE WITH THIS ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ JUST SPREAD ANTI-MACISM AROUND AND SPREAD THIS LINK AROUND............WOOOOO....p.s. ZUNE OWNS IPOD ohhh and too all the mac users UGAY, lol jk jk just a little window humor :)

thanks for this post! I fuc*n hate macs too! And I hate mac peoples! yeah, because they are a new race of people. most of the time gay.

"Mac users alwats convince me to get a Mac because you’ll never get a virus. LIES!!!! I use Windows and linux and I have never had a virus or any other malware on my any of my computers. Wait, so you're proving that Macs get viruses by saying that you've never gotten viruses on Windows and Linux? Please enlighten me. I don't hate Windows. Heck, I used Windows all the time, but you know what I can't stand? PEOPLE LIKE YOU. People who act stupid, sound stupid, and make themselves look stupid.

"Oh, and.. why does Windows get more viruses than MACs? .. because no one uses a damn MAC! No one wants to waste their time writing a virus that only one person will get.. LOL. Have you had your head in the sand for the past... Iunno 7-10 years? You can play all the games Windows plays now by running Windows on your Mac. WAIT, WHAT? Mac users using Windows?! Yeah, we do and we don't give a shit - it works. They're not expensive if you fucking take a look, but again, you are way too ignorant to comprehend anything.

Stupid people, saying stupid things, being stupid. It's quite funny actually. You haven't convinced me or anyone else of anything. You're "ranting" with no reason and no fact to back it up. Go do some research before you make your self look like an ignorant retard.

Oh and the virus was Windows fault, because it was obtained through a back door that hadn't yet been fixed by Microsoft.
---

Now looking at your post about Dell... You just seem stupid and ignorant about computers in general. Go online, do some research, and find a REAL computer. God, I didn't know there were stupid people like you.

Whiney Bitch. Just because your too poor and too stupid to have a mac doesnt mean you bitch about it. Who ever said that macs were made to be better then windows? You can plug in a mouse and it has a right click, and theres a setting you change on laptops to enable a right click feature. I'm typing this message on a 1st gen MacBook 1GB RAM Leopard. It's amazing. I've never gotten bored of it. I have NO problem with people not liking macs, or not liking Windows, but it annoys me how people BITCH about it! Grow up and get the fuck over it. Don't like the price? Fine. Get a windows. Don't like the OS, get a Windows. You wouldnt complain about how expensive it is if you didnt want one. Just shut the hell up. Theyre expensive because of the technology used.

So you are ranting about how mac users ranting? Really? I am a mac user and don't really care what computer you use. But in my experience, windows users are the ones who predominately have the hang up about mac and pc's brand, and your blog further proves this theory.

I own a IBM compatible PC. I also own a Macintosh.

Each one has its strengths and weaknesses. For example, Vista is occasionally slow and some Win16 games and apps will not run on it, and Mac is not compatible with half the programs on the Internet and the single menu bar for 30 applications really annoys me.

All I'm trying to say is both Windows and Macs are good. I'm not on either side- I find the Mac (a 2.19GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac) great for photo editing and making movies with iMovie, and I find the IBM compatible (a 2.4GHz Pentium 4 home built) good for running games and general applications.

To me, both sides have their ups and downs, but they're both good. Just my opinion.

I am a lifetime PC user and this blog has made me a little happier today.

I finally have some people to talk to about my completely rational hatred for the Mac negative advertising campaign...

Not but a few years ago I was a happy little boy, didn't even know much about Macs. Then these commercials started airing and for a while, I didn't care too much, but after so long of having to sit through this crap, I have to draw the big red line! Enough is enough! My hatred for these dumb advertisements has grown to immeasureable levels!

I have a little message...

To: Everyone Else
From: Me

"I'm a PC and I don't change for anyone!!!"

Mac's, I hate them, I enjoy reading about people hating them. They are like the little kid you just want to kick in the head.

I'm a freelance developer and I shudder every time I turn up to a business and have to use a mac.

I want to go in and get the work done but instead I'm faced with a million different bits of information on the screen at once, all dancing about in pretty pirouettes.

I like to open a window, complete some work and close it again. Simple.
I like to find the toolbar/information bar/menu I'm looking for because there's only a few on the screen to choose from.
I like have two (if not more) mouse buttons.
I like the fact that I'm forced to understand my machine a little more.
I like the fact I'm not paying for a gayman's dresser mirror design.
I like to be able to play games after work and sometimes during.
I like to be able to run little known apps.
I like it that I can put liquid nitrogen pumps in my computer just to see what happens.
I like that I understand the OS that runs most of the worlds technology and that it's flawed but open to suggestion.
I like it that my cursor is an hour glass when it's thinking, not a rainbow.
I like it that it's drab and industrial.
I like it that sometimes it's as messy as my own life and I have to fight and understand to improve and that eventually I'll be in total control.

I don't like windows but I really hate macs!

All I have to say is that it took Apple 10 years to design OSX and after failing many times they finally decided to use a free-bsd system to base their own operating system off of. No matter how many things windows decides to use to better their system that they got from a Mac, the entire mac OS is copied from something that was already made. The WinXP system was developed in 1999 and has continued to prove an outstanding operating system throughout the years that most people still rely on to do things such as e-mail, web browsing, or typing a document. The fact that OSX is being compared to a system 8 years older than it just goes to show that it's a terrible product in the first place. They had 10 years to come up with a product and its only slightly better in some ways, if that.

I hate the way Apple says it doesn't get virus.
Thats because Mac users don't have enough brains to write them.

Listen, I am a long term Mac user, (since OS 7), and I've used PC's for this and that over the past 15+ years (uggh). Every time I use a PC, without fail, every time, I look at the screen, and I just think "Why?" Why do people buy these things? Things are just laid out inefficiently. It's not an inviting experience. "I have to do this this and this just to do that?" Apple has continued, since it's very inception, to bring innovative, industry-leading designs to the table. The mouse, for example, was a first for personal computers in 1983 on the Apple Lisa. (As for the second mouse button, Macs have had a second mouse button for quite some time, you just can't see it. The mouse knows where your finger is, and behaves accordingly. In fact, the new mouses even have a scroll where you just run your finger anywhere on the mouse and it scrolls and slides and all sorts of stuff. No more wheel.) The Apple Lisa was also the first to use things called "windows" and "icons" on a digital "desktop". The Apple Newton was a touch-screen PDA years before Palm Pilots, The PowerMac G5 was the first 64-bit personal computer, the Apple iPod revolutionized portable music as we know it, just as the Apple iPhone is doing with cell phones right now. I could go on for pages, but i'll just lay it out:

Apple invented a lot, but not everything. And Macs aren't perfect. But they are intuitive, efficient, reliable and easy to use, own, and maintain. And if they happen to be good looking and chock full of extras to make your life easier, well, that's just a plus. And if people want to be passionate about their brand, that's a plus too. The fact remains that you would not have Windows as you know it if Apple hadn't done it first, and done it better. I welcome any pro-PC argument you have. I really would like to hear what you have to say. But please come at me with more than a mouse button and a commercial. If you really are happy with a PC, then by all means keep it! I wish it was the way it was 15 years ago when NO ONE had a Mac. I like it that way. But one day you'll decide that you're sick of loading drivers and doing virus scans waiting for things to load and giving Vista permission to do anything. You'll just want it to work. When that day comes, you'll get a Mac. And if that day never comes, I really am sorry. I don't know one person that has gone from a PC to a Mac, and then back to a PC. Do you?

Your evidence that Windows Systems > Mac ones:
*nothing here*

All you did there was rant on about how you dislike Macs without providing any actual evidence about why you think that. Well done on the useless post.

1) You pay more for a mac compared to an equivalent PC.
2) If you want to create a application for the mac, you have to use a fucking spesific programming language for it (Objective-C) while x86 (windows, linux) have no such restrictions.
Sure, you can program it in java but then all you get are simple tetris games.
3) There's none/few games for mac because of #2.
4) If you run boot camp or emulate windows, that adds an overhead which means a performance hit. Which in turn means you get less out of the hardware.
5) There's less malware for macs, since it has the highest market share which means the malware will affect the most users.
If Mac OS X was the OS on the top of the hill, it'd be just as bad there.
6) I can't manually upgrade the hardware on my mac since it's locked to whatever Apple wishes.
I can upgrade WHATEVER I want on my PC, and I save fortunes doing it myself plus I get to customize it to whatever I want, not to whatever Apple wants.

'Windows hogs more memory?'
Give me a fucking break.
If you had half a clue on how computers work, you'd know that you can tweak and turn off whatever features you do not need. That's the beauty of it.

'Windows takes 5-6 hours to install and I have to format.'
JESUS CHRIST ARE YOUR RETARDED?
If your buddy bought a PC with windows pre-installed (Which he didn't, since he'd get yet another nice discount), you'd find no problems at all.
That's like saying

How the minions use reversed labels to trample the Apple uprising:

It's so desperate it begs compassion ...
It's so obvious it doesn't really need revealing ...
And it won't stop the consumer uprising this time around ...

PC users have always chosen to follow the mainstream and felt threatened by anyone who dared to think different. And even back when it was still a question if you should buy a Windows PC or a Mac they used the reversed label psychology as a means to get people in line and start marching to the loudest drum: Microsoft. These days it has come down to a different choice: do you want a PC that can only run Windows, or do you want a Mac which can run Windows and Mac OS X. Pick one and then we'll get back to that later on, after we have revealed the reality about fanatics versus the main stream distortion field.

Here's how they did it and how they use the same trick on iOS users today.
