ibook will not start up help!!!

My ibook died and will not restart no matter what I try. The screen is black. The battery is full as green light on at electricial connection. The hurrah sound does not come on when I press start button; nor start plus apple button; nor start plus apple plus control button. Im not very techie but desperately need to work over bank holiday weekend so any help very appreciated. Is it something terrbly simple or has it expired?

Have you pulled the battery out, plugged into power and tried booting? Otherwise, you should be taking it to a Certified Apple Repair CEnter.

I sorted it by unplugging it, taking out the battery- leaving it for 20 mins then putting battery in and pressing start button. It worked!. I don't know why. We got the suggestion from tech guy on his day off - St Patricks day holiday.
