partitioning macbook hard disc

Expand Post »
I have just bought a macbook and the "help" section says the hard disc can be partitioned and re-formatted for Windows applications. Is is possible to partition so that part of the disc is formatted for OS and part for Windows?

Re: partitioning macbook hard disc

It is possible but it seems unlikely to me that the "help" section would suggest anything of the sort as officially it shouldn't work. Some clever people have managed to hack the new intel Macs to run WinXP albeit with lots of limitations (poor driver support, some programs not working etc.). Re: partitioning macbook hard disc

Things took a surprising turn yesterday, though. As you might have heard Apple released Boot Camp which makes it OFFICIALLY possible to dual boot your new intel based Mac to both OS's (OS X & WinXP). Worth a shot if you need both platforms even though the software is still beta.
