iOS notifications from website.

Hi.
So I have a website (SNIP) and I am setting up a phpBB forum (or something else). But......I'm going mobile-style! Is there anyway I can make it so anytime a new post comes up (assuming the person is on the website), the person gets a push notification or something? (or maybe like a Javascript pop-up when someone posts something?)

The most i know is that the iPhone cant even get JAVA or FLASH. I know because i tried to get both on my iPhone 4

The most simple method will be to make a mobile app that provides you notification whenever some activity is performed on your website.
