Trouble connecting to my windows network

I am new to the Mac, and have figured out all of the differances so far, but I can't get the network connections figured out.
All of the other computers in my house are PC's. They are networked together with a wireless DSL router and switch. All of these computers can all see each other, but not the Mac.
What am I doing wrong?
I can ping my router and can connect to the internet via the airport in the Mac.

Please help,
Thanks

Hi, which version of the Mac Operating System are you running?

If you're running OS X go to the System Preferences and pick Sharing. Make sure that Personal File Sharing and Windows Sharing are both checked. Then go to your Applications folder, into the Utilities and open the Directory Access Utility and make sure SMB is checked. Then while SMB is highlighted hit the Configure... button and make sure that your workgroup is the same as the Windows machines. In Windows the default workgroup is called Workgroup. They should see each other.
