How to mute background voice (not sound) on eMac

HI, i just got an eMac and new Mac user, i want to mute background voice (not sound), how can i do this, there is no option in system pref. in mac.

You men the voice that reads the text on the screen? I don't know which version of MacOS you have, but try "/Applications/Utilities/VoiceOver Utility.app". There you can unchek the option.
