Entourage keeps quitting when I click send/receive

I have a G4 powerbook running Mac OSX 10.2.8 and use Entourage as my e-mail program. I can open Entourage, read e-mails and send e-mails etc but if I click on the send recive button the program automatically quits wit the following message "The application Entourage has unexpectedly quit" The system and other applications have not been affected"
