iMac 3,06GHZ 27" panic( cpu 0 caller 0x559a5b):

Fellow members
Just bought a 3,06Ghz 27" iMac today and when setting up transferred data from my MacBookPro 15" from external hard disk via Time Machine. The setting of the MacBookPro have now affected my iMac and when I rebooted with the OS X 10.6 disk inserted I got the above plus a lot more. End result every time I switch computer off and on again I get that message.
panic( cpu 0 caller 0x559a5b): "unable to find driver for this platform:\"ACPI\". ETC ETC

FURTHER DOWN:
BSD process name corresponding to current thread: Unknown

Anybody out there with advise on this....There have been past issues like this but didn't give any clear solution....
