Tried to install Panther. Failed

Expand Post »
When I tried to install panther on to my lap top. It failed. After disk 2 it said insallation complete and to restart. I did but I keep getting a notice to resart and I do not get to the desktop. I tried starting from the first install disk and indicating the new start up disk. Does not help. Do I need to reinstall and what about disk 3?

Re: Tried to install Panther. Failed

I have never encountered this problem. I would run Disk Utility from one of the setup disks and check for errors on your startup disk. If that doesn't work, make sure the install disks aren't scratched at all and then go ahead and reinstall.
