help, i cant open .dmg files on my mac

when i try stuffit expander opens but nothing else happens. i tried dragging them into applications but still nothing. help

Try dragging the dmg file onto the Disk Copy Utility, this should mount a volume on the desktop with the same name as the dmg file.

Stuffity Expander doesn't open DMGs, /System/Library/Core Services/DiskImageMounter.app opens/mounts them.

If the DMG is corrupt, you may have to redownload whatever you downloaded.
