PowerMac G5 compatibility with Western Digital Raptor

I wanted to install a Western Digital 74 GB Raptor HDD as a second
Hard Disk in my PowerMac G5.
The people at my local Apple store warned me that this would annul
the Apple guaranty.
Is there a known compatibility issue?
