OSX office 2004 powerpc launch error

I just upgraded my mac from snow leapord too the new mountain lion. After upgrading , office applications (word, porwerpoint, etc) wont work, producing the error that the application cant be opened beacause powerpc apps are no longer supported. Is there any way to fix this other than paying to upgrade to a new version of office.

Well, to be frank, you could run the apps in a virtual machine of snow leapord. But other than that, you'll probably have to buy the new Office Applications (or use Libre Office/Open Office). I'm not sure if there are powerpc emulators readily available on the mac.

Yes the only option is to virtualize an OS X server in VirtualBox or VMWare.
