What bitrate does your web browser report when downloading a file, and what did you expect it to be? (Look in the download window, it should say something like xx KB/s.)

Can you please open Terminal (located in /Applications/Utilities), and enter the following at the command prompt, hitting return/enter to execute:
curl http://website.com/your-file-to-download > somefile
Replacehttp://website.com/your-file-to-download with a direct link to a file that you wish to download. After hitting 'return', you should see something like the following appear:
% Total % Received % Xferd Average Speed Time Time Time Current
Dload Upload Total Spent Left Speed
0 646M 0 6402k 0 0 116k 0 1:34:35 0:00:54 1:33:41 126k
What's your average download speed (Average Dload)? Is it any faster than before?
