Hard drive partition

I was about to install a game when I remembered how they used to frag the HD petty badly on my PC. So I went to set a partition & couldn't find a means to do so. Come to think of it, I've never seen a way so scan or de-frag either. The only things Finder found about these were both in Adobe Photoshop. I'd be grateful for any help.

Technically, that shouldn't happen on a Mac.

But if it does (over a long period of time), your best option is just to wipe the hard drive and start over again.
