Export from Excel help needed

I have a faculty member who has been on OS 9 using Lotus 123. She collects data, enters into the lotus spreadsheet, and then exports as tab sep file to upload to a VMS server for analysis. Recently upgraded her to a Mac OS X box with Office X, and expected to use Excel for this. Problem is that when data is exported as tab sep file, there are now dbl quotes around each field of data. This messes up the app on the VMS server.

How to export the data without the app adding the double quotes?

Thanks!

Hello,

I am not sure how to do this with Office / Excel. You can try OpenOffice / NeoOffice J, and see if that export will solve the problem.

Otherwise, see if VMS will support another input format, such as CSV.
