Metasploit error:Error while running command db_connect: Failed to connect to the dat

Hello all,
I've been trying to get metasploit working on my mac for a couple of days and I just keep getting this error:"Error while running command db_connect: Failed to connect to the database: Unknown MySQL server host '0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.0.1' (1)"
and then is says "call stack" and gives me a bunch of file locations.

any ideas on what the problem is?

also I'm running Mac OS X Version 10.6.7
