trying to fix my dad's old powerPC G3 before he pops his clogs (soon,terminal C)
came to me with dead power supply and dead hdd
managed to fix the power by using parts from another machine
used other machine's hdd too, to check repair worked
put back original hdd - nothing - not even in disc utiliy
have tried to get hdd recognised in many other machines with no luck
both internally and externally via usb to ide
finally found a tray loading dvd type powerPC (laptop style ram)
this machine recognises hdd, but only in disc utility where it wants to initialise it!
don't necessarily need the hdd, what i'm after are the files that might still be on it
as these are my father's memoirs and he would dearly like to see them again before he goes....
anyone got any ideas how to look inside an invisible os9 hdd?
