Administrative Password Forgotten

Seems like anything I want to do requires an administrative password. I do not know what this is. I have two operating systems (MAC OS 9.2.2 & MAC OS X 10.1.2). I have both install disks. I have instructions on resetting the password in OS X 10.1.5 or earier. (Here's hooping I can follow them). Will this reset the Admin. Password in OS 9.2.2 (I hope so)? Do I need to re-install OS 9.2.2 disk?

Hello,

Mac OS 9 and earlier do not have the "multiple users" paradigm that OS X does, therefore, there is no master password that needs to be reset under OS 9. If you are in OS X, and in Classic, there may be administrative things on the OS X side of the picture, but once Classic is runing, you will not need any sort of password or permissions setup.
