I have 2 x IBM T/Pad i-1200 laptops. One has a DVD rom the other has a CD-Rom. I wanted to put a DVD-Rom in the 2nd machine and purchased a Toshiba SD-C2502 (ver. 1011) which I understood to be compatible with the CD-C2402 DVD in the other machine. I therefore expected this to be a straight swap but I get The messages - 050. Ide Primary Channel Master Drive Errors, and 060. Equipment Configuration Error. I'm guessing this is because both my HDD and new DVD-Rom are set to Primary Master so I need to change the DVD-Rom but preferably without having to do any soldering or anything that might stop my original CD-Rom from working in the same machine. Does anyone have any suggestions?
