Setting up "fortune" for logins ...

Expand Post »
I want to set up the ever popular fortune program to display a random fortune each time a user logs in. The program is installed, but which config file do I need to edit to get the program to automatically run after each successful login?

Re:Setting up "fortune" for logins ...

ok ... got it! In that bash config thingie file (more specifically, the last line of .bash_profile) in my home directory ... I just typed /usr/games/fortune and it worked

My problem now is trying to figure out these really stupid, corny jokes. I *would* say they just went over my head, but everyone I ask doesn't have a clue what they mean either. Oh well!
