linux database responds very slow

Expand Post »
Uses access to DB2 for end users, but the system acting very slow in respond. I have using LSOF and ps -ux for my investigation the system process, and I suspect it's Maybe due to the maintenance program. Ques: Can I issue a kill signal directly to the maintenance program for termination. I'm concern that it may be having a traps signal once i kill the process. I try not to interrupt any work that are running. Any suggestion?

Re: linux database responds very slow

Is the maintenance program (not sure if this is relevant) scheduled by cron? Could you change the schedule of the program to run less frequently?
