suse 9.2 firewall

Expand Post »
Hi ,recently installed suse 9.2 on my machine and like it the most up to now of the linux flavours that I have tried.
The only problem that I have, is that the machine will only connect to the internet when the stupid mode box is ticked in the config section. Unless this is done, the modem activates but will not connect to any sites, but will do so with or without the external firewall interface box ticked.
Any info on the subject would be gratefully recieved.
GS.

Re: suse 9.2 firewall

try to ping any of the websites using the IP address not the DNS names . If you are able to reach. You probably have to disable the firewall. If i am not mistaken it is SuseFirewall stop

./thanks
