I've been using Mint 8 for a while on my Sony Vaio laptop without any problems. My laptop was recently stolen and I got a new Sony Vaio laptop, model VPCF127FX. I went ahead and installed the newest version of Mint, which is Mint9. Now the touchpad doesn't work and I have to use a USB mouse when I want to run Mint9. The touchpad is being recognized as a Sony Vaio JogDial mouse. I have tried everything in /dev/input and nothing ever shows up when I mess with the touchpad. Anybody have any ideas on what to do? This is very inconvenient seems to be a pretty common problem with the Sony Vaio's.
