ARM9 OMAP getting start help

I'm newbie on arm9 and linux OS. I hope i can get some clue how to start on interact between my pc and arm board.

Im using ubuntu 10.10 and i haven download the arm-linux-gcc yet.
I have a OSAP L138 with ARM 9. I can successfully power on and my hyperterminal able to display the menu and ask me whether want to use auto boot or u-boot. I searched some getting start manual. They mostly teach until can display things on hyperterminal. So my question is what is the next step for me to download a simple hello world program to my arm board.

*I don't know my board currently have OS or not :(

Go to the board manufacturer's site for instructions how to write an operating system to it's flash memory, unless it can boot from network or SD card. In any case, each board differs, and you need the tools and or process documentation from the manufacturer.
