Actually, Peacekeeper tests more than just JavaScript. Which its one of the reasons why it's better than SunSpider.

I agree. Internet Explorer is the WORST browser ever. It doesn't support the web standards (very well) and has problems with even simple JavaScript. Plus the fact that I is really slow (at browsing, rendering and even just starting the browser is slow).

I use Minefield, which is basically the pre-release of the next Firefox.

I don't think that Chrome is that slow, but it hasn't got many features and when you do start using addons, etc. you do get a slower speed.

Safari isn't the fastest browser ever, I personally don't like it but I know that it is slower on Mac Computers than on Windows. Strange how Apple make it. hmm

Nice test happygeek. Pity people don't realize that different connection will give different results as it is not the speed of the computer that matters but the quality of the signal received. I use Opera 11 and am quite happy with it as it works well with 3G connections.

I realize that the connection speed is different and may change. I could go as far as saying that it is impossible to have a perfect benchmark because internet speeds change all of the time. Also, the computer may be doing something else while running the test so it would change the speed. There are too many factors to get a Perfect test, although I understand that this is just a simple comparison.

In my previous post, I was saying what my opinion was and how I see the different browsers. Just because it is slow for me, doesn't mean it is slow for everyone else. My computer has different software, hardware and other things to worry about that could change the speed of software and connection speeds.

Anyway...

Thats what I liked about their test it was simple with identical hardware and tests and, as you stated Kieran Y5, although not perfect, was a good enough comparison. Problem is you get people who believe what ever they use is the best. RE- the post before yours.

em..IMHO.. speed: I'd like to choose IE.
Most programmer would like to choose Firefox.
But truly Firxfox speed is really sucks.

What planet are you on? IE is the slowest browser I have ever used... It takes ages to load IE and any pages. It doesn't support JavaScript very well and doesn't support the W3 Standards much.

So my conclusion: Internet Explorer should be uninstalled from every computer in the world and all its files deleted. Everyone should be forced to used either Firefox or Chrome and...

Ok, that might be a bit over the top but that just shows how much I hate Internet Explorer.

I dunno Y your IE is so slow.
And truly firefox is good in some way, but if your firefox contains lots of add-ins gadgets like my... it does take more time than my IE everytime i launch the browser
