Hi,

is it safe to delete index.dat?
if so, where is it located, and how can we manually delete it?
if not, what is a reliable software that do that?

As far as i know you can only delete this file from DOS.....

It is the main file for IE and contains URLS and such so you can easily go back to them w/p re-requesting the page,etc.......

I use DISK CLEANER to clear out all my history and once in awhile i boot to DOS and delete the file totally..... (Win98se)
