I have a number of shortcuts assigned to open windows I'd like to use every time I start WinXP, (with size, position, bkgd & text color). These are auto-ping (verify WiFi link status) and Notepad docs for log files I maintain and want immediate access to. To display all of them properly (custom tiling), I'd like to be able to automatically open them in a specific order.

When I place these shortcuts in the Startup folder, WinXP opens them in order of it's choosing. Invoking from batch file causes loss of shortcut settings (size, position, color). I've tried batch files with "Start {scut}", "call {scut}" and just naming the shortcuts directly {scut}, with and without the .lnk extension - all no joy.

Is there an easy way to invoke shortcuts from a batch file, retaining custom settings? This would ultimately be easiest to maintain, as I could then just edit the batch file as my needs change.

Thanks in advance.
