Thunderbird- Set default folder

I have two main issues with thunderbird. The first is that I have multiple accounts setup, and they all show their messages in the Inbox folder. So I would like to set it so that the program automatically opens up to that folder. I can't figure it out. Also, i use the minimize to tray addon for thunderbird to, well, the name is self explanatory. Anyway, when it notifies you of an incoming email, it repeats the name of the email like four times so it's as if you received four of the same message. The first problem is of more importance to me though so if I can get any help at all that would be awesome. Thanks in advance.
