I found this in a few different places around the 'net - hopefully it's helpful:

Place a "Run" Icon On Your Desktop


  • Open the Start Menu and drag the Run option on to your desktop.

You may want to rename it to get rid of the ampersand. Now you will be able to double-click the "Run" icon on your desktop to go directly to the Run dialog.

Deffinately my favorite way of doing it. i already have way too many icons on my desktop :lol:

..or you can make a rclick context menu entry for a w explorer folder.... saves going to the desktop. And, neatly enough, that folder is is your active directory! Click-clack.
