recently my winxp got corrupted and all my important files are on my main drive. I wanted to reformat my pc so I had to make a bakcup. I went to my old pc and installed my hdd, the problem is my win98SE OS cant detect my drives after boot. Is there a way for my win98SE to detect my XPhdd so i could transfer my files?

Yes. I've not tried this yet, so I don't know if it's good, but Sysinternals is known for great tools:
