office 2007 won't install

This is my first time installing anything Office 2007, which I got the iso
from MSDN. Upon loading the cd, it tells me it fails to upgrade from
pre-release. Odd, I never installed anything but Office 2003, which I even
uninstalled prior to trying yet again, same error

I have XP Media Center 2005 on Sony Vaio Core 2 Duo system.

I uninstalled Office 2003, never installed Office 2007 versions of any kind either.

I removed the directory, cleaned registry and literally ran 4 registry cleaners. Rebooted twice, same problem

What to do?

it doesnt run on xp home very well and i dont think it runs on media centre edition at all
