AVG Free annoyingly defines MDM.exe as a virus

Hello,

I've AVG Free latest version installed and running fine. However, it began in about two weeks ago to keep recognizing MDM.exe (which is Machine Debug Manager, a system process in XP2 AFAIK) as virus. No matter what I do it keeps showing a popup window of "Threat Detection" and prompts me to take action. Healing, ignoring or moving the file to the Vault all seem to do nothing at all and a minute later the popup is jumping on the screen again. It became very annoying and irritating.

Any idea how could I resolve this problem?

TIA.

try run -> sfc /scannow to check it is actually the microsoft one and hasnt been changed my malware

its probably just a false positive though. Norton thinks MOM.EXE is a virus. It usually is, but ATI have recently decided to call the process for thier video driver MOM.EXE and when norton "repairs it" then its lights out on the monitor :(

in AVG there may be a way to add it to a "safe list"?

have you tried updating your definitions
