Address book virus?

My address book vanished and I am told there is a bug that can do this. I have tried to recover the deleted file but there is no trace of it. If there is such a virus what is it and how can it be detected/removed. I have run AVG, Adaware and Spybot no trace.

Which address book?

Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail or another program?

Try and post as much info as possible.
