Gotta go. Check here . If it's Windows 98, why all the Registry references to WinNT? SmileyCentral is an adware source, dump it and all references.

You also didn't post your whole hijackthis log....you left off the top part that includes your operating system, what version of hijackthis you are running, etc.

You are also running HJT from a temp folder, please put it into a permanent folder (like c:\hjt\hijackthis.exe).

Hey, and don't throw your computer off the balcony! Worst case scenerio, you'll just need to reinstall Windows. Besides, you might hit someone! :)

I hope it isn't too late, although I'm sure it is... anyway, for future reference:

I had the same problem and found a fix earlier today:

delete these from your registry (AS ALWAYS, MAKE A BACKUP FIRST IF YOU ARE NOT SURE WHAT YOU ARE DOING)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\explorer.exe
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\iexplorer.exe

Worked for me and a few other people...let me know...

Chad
