A nastie(s) .. can't be sure is one

Expand Post »
I have McAffee enterprise edition, and it worked for peanuts!, it identified there was a virus, and bam!, I was still hit, and hit hard. *there ... I vented that one off :-)*

I have a file in the RUN entry of the registry: C:\WINDOWS\system32\kdyvj.exe that upon deletion is immediately created. Of course the file is no where to be found in that folder (or any other for that matter - at least not visible - though I choosed to show all files even hidden

I also found some 4 or 5 files named xpsp*res.dll under in slovenian. I deleted one and immediately came back. I grabbed them all and deleted them (in safe mode) and they were gone.

But the registry simply won't budge. I can't find a weird process running that could be doing this, but again task manager doesn't display ALL tasks.

Additionally the DNS IP address is changed, and after I changed back to automatic (as it should be), it reverts back to this 85.255.112.126

I tried full scan with McAfee, with WindowsDefender and with AVG would not install for some reason (even after I uninstalled McAfee - which upon failure of the other I later reinstalled it)

This is the log from HiJack this:

Re: A nastie(s) .. can't be sure is one

Hello and Welcome to Daniweb,

Pls do the following:

1. - Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes...=dl&tag=button) to your desktop.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure to checkmark the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
* Post the log back here.

Make sure that you restart the computer.

The log can also be found here:
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt
Or at C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt

2. - Pls run hijackthis again and post the log.

In your reply, post the logs (in this order):
1. - Malware Bytes Log
2. - Hijackthis Log

Thanks,

Cohen
