Re: Virus problem. (w/ MBA-M & Hijack This logs)

Ok, great. I uninstalled Combofix & HijackThis and set a new restore point. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing from here on out. Anything else that I should do?

No, you should be good to go. Just watch where you surf, what you download and continue to use your anti-virus program and MBA-M weekly at least. You can mark this solved.

Re: Virus problem. (w/ MBA-M & Hijack This logs)

I have barely even touched my computer in the past 4 days but problems are STILL lurking.

Today my computer inexplicably shutdown and would not restart. I was receiving a blue screen with an error message that would immediately shut it down (it would shut down before I had enough time to read the error.) Eventually it restarted but now I have noticed that search engine results are being redirected. I updated and ran MBA-M and it came up clean.

A HJT scan is below but since this problem doesn't seem to want to go away would it make sense at this point to use my system restore disc, restore my computer to factory settings and start from scratch? I have an external hard-drive to copy files that can't be replaced and it would just be a matter of re-installing and re-downloading other programs. It would be time consuming but if it would solve the problem it seems like that might be the best bet. Let me know what you think when you have a moment. Thank you!

Since this has been going on 34 days, I think that is probably your best bet. Especially since you have a way to back up everything.
