Re: Please Help Me (again:)) Microsoft Word Problems

Let me work in Word and Access for a bit and see how they perform. No problems yet and I've had word open for about an hour (Previously it would have crashed a bunch of times by now so it seems a lot better). I will get on here to tomorrow and let you know how it all is going. If it is good then I will pronounce this thread "Solved". Thanks a million for the assistance.

Re: Please Help Me (again:)) Microsoft Word Problems

Hi there Cohen,
Well, it appears I am having another different (related?) problem now. I am getting this "C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe" error message. It happens when I tried to open any of the utilities in the control panel, it happens when I double click the clock when trying to bring up the calender, and it happened when trying to make a shortcut to my companies server. I googled it and was I read a blog that recomended the program "Registry Patrol" so I gave it a shot. They fount "580" problems and fixed 30 problems but wanted me to buy the program to fix the others. When I tried to uninstall the program is when I encountered the error message in that location (before it I just noted it at the calender and shortcut functions). Aaaarrrrgggghhhh. This computer is driving me crazy! Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks

Sorry to say this Registry Patrol doesn't get very good word in a lot of places. Registry cleaner, editors....just not something I personally recommend, especially one which will "fix" some but not others without payment.
Did the program offer backup of the registry prior to these fixes?

Yeah, the program said that a backup was created.....should I try to back out of this?

Ok...I went ahead and "took a step back" with the back-up.

Now boot to Safe Mode and see if you can uninstall that Registry Patrol program.

Ok..Im in safe mode now and I am still getting that same error message when I try to access certain tools in the control panel. Cannot access the "add/remove software" and others. "Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe.'"
